Team Building And Confidence Building Games

It is really hard to make kids to easily mingle with other kids in the first few days of the school. If you are a teacher and facing the same problem, then you can make use of team bonding games. These games can be informative to make the kids learn about other kids. To make it interesting, you can make these games played in an interesting and entertaining way. This will surely make the kids to stay focused in what you do. On the first day, make the kids sit on the place, where they like. Next day, change their places. By doing this, kids can easily get mingled with others. Keep on changing the place, until the kid feels comfortable. Now, form as many teams as the number of desks. The members of the team are the kids present in each desk. Assign interesting task to each of the team and ask the team to complete it. Now, the kids will work together and complete the task. By this way, kids will build up confidence upon each other and get to know about the importance of team working skills. It doesn’t matters what age of kids, you are dealing with; you can simply use team working skills outdoors. Children love to play outside and moreover, through these types of games, the energy is fully utilized. Every kid is fond of playing the game of capture the flag.

To play this game, you have to divide the class into 2 groups. But before you form the group, make sure to put kids with people, who he/she might not know very well. This helps in making new bonds with others. After the group is formed, ask the kids to choose their leader. This leader will represent the entire team and is responsible for either winning or losing the game. Team members must have full confidence on the leader. This is one of the simple confidence building activities.

Adventurous and GPS games can also be played to build up confidence among the kids. Teams are built without the knowledge of the kids. As these games require proper team work, make sure that you divide the team evenly. To make this game more interesting, you can buy hand-held GPS systems to the leader of every group to map the location of the other group.

Camping trips will also work best for strengthening the team. Planning for a wilderness camp requires a lot of hard work. Kids can help in planning the event. You can simply assign different task to different groups. One group may help in planning and the other in packing the needed things. This would make them feel as they have contributed a little to the success of the camp trip. As the 2 different works have been done successfully by 2 teams, each team will be confident on their leaders. This is the best of many other confidence building activities. Apart from these outdoor activities, you can also have indoor team activities. Crest making and Cup stacking are the simple games, which can be practiced in the classroom. To play cup stacking, the cups can be made out of plastic or hard paper. You can buy these cups from any of the general store. The important thing that every game must contain is “fun”. Children will get attracted automatically, if the game is interesting to play. They will find new bonds and will have great time. Kids will have more fun, if the environment is good. So, make sure that the surrounding is attractive. Thus, team bonding games are the best technique for the kids to get to know about each other.

The main important factor about building a team for children is to make it fun. Children will bond and have a great time, even if you are looking at it as team building. Ice breakers are great ways to start off the activities, as all the children will get to know one another. Some ice breakers will involve learning names, learning addresses and remembering the other team member’s special interests. These quizzes and activities were created in order to help children relax and feel comfortable before the real tasks begin.
